With the advent of the pandemic and the subsequent shift of most entertainment to online platforms, the client saw a significant increase in their app user base in Russia and the CIS.
To safeguard the platform, the Client approachedICL Services to moderate all user-generated content.

Implemented our solution
The project was initiated in April 2020, during the peak of the pandemic.
The unique aspect of the service was its majority user base of children, necessitating stringent and comprehensive moderation rules. Therefore, all project participants were required to be fluent in CIS languages to ensure a safe environment for all platform users.
The ICL Services team prioritized moderator training, which was conducted continuously without days off. After establishing the training processes, we began integrating into the service from scratch.
Within the scope of the project, moderation experts were working round the clock to ensure a safe environment for users of a children's app with entertaining content (akin to the Chinese version of Tik Tok).
Artificial intelligence conducted the initial moderation, while cases with potential violations were directly forwarded to manual moderation. In accordance with the client's guidelines, the moderator assessed the received content – either blocking, hiding, or recommending the video.
Thanks to the high performance as per the client's request, the moderation team was expanded from 30 to 180 members in the subsequent months, taking on additional service areas as projects.
