The client is a Russian devision of a retail chain of body, face, perfume and home goods, a French brand of natural
cosmetics.
In the Russian retail industry, new requirements for labeling perfumery and cosmetic products for the sale of perfumes and eau de toilette came into force on November 1, 2024.In this regard, the customer faced the need to urgently adapt its system to comply with the rules for labeling and tracking goods and new legal requirements in accordance with the methodological recommendations of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT).
It was important to take into account that the adaptation had to be completed in a short time. The ICL Services team joined these tasks.
Key Challenges
- Ensure the system supports the new format of product labeling
- Create a driver for processing the labeling of perfumes and toilet waters through a fiscal printer
Implemented our solution
- Work on the project began with an analysis of new legislative requirements and a study of methodological recommendations (CRPT). ICL Services specialists analyzed in detail the mechanisms for processing labeling, possible error scenarios and ways to eliminate them.
After that, the team began development and testing.
Understanding the importance of uninterrupted operation of stores and loss of revenue from the inability to sell perfumes and eau de toilette, engineers developed functionality in the fiscal printer driver to quickly determine the correctness of product labeling data.
They also thought out the principles of operation in online and offline modes, which allowed the customer to continue sales even during temporary network interruptions.
During testing, specialists checked the correctness of data exchange, debugged the logic of the driver and eliminated possible errors.
After that, the updated system was implemented in a production environment and test sales were conducted.
Today, together with the customer, the team is monitoring further changes in labeling and rules for checking labeled goods and implementing them into the system.
Results
- Developed the necessary driver for the fiscal printer.
- Implemented the integration of the existing labeling system with the Honest Sign system.
- Successful implementation of the driver allowed the company to continue working in accordance with new legal requirements and avoid fines.
