Every Minute Counts: ICL Services Releases Podcast on the Impact of New Technologies and AI on Emergency Medical Services in Russia
ICL Services has released a new episode of its Service Chronicles podcast, where company experts regularly discuss complex technological topics in the context of modern trends. During the conversation, invited experts and the moderator examined in detail the journey an emergency call goes through, from dialing 103 to the arrival of the ambulance team. Main focus of the episode is the large-scale technology ecosystem operating behind the scenes of an emergency call.
The episode brought together professionals responsible for the uninterrupted day-to-day operation of critical infrastructure: Alexey Klontsak, Head of the Digital Healthcare Development Department at the Digital Transformation Center of the Republic of Tatarstan; Kirill Alykin, Deputy Chief Physician for Digital Transformation at Kazan Emergency Medical Service; and Konstantin Sidorov, Senior Project Manager at ICL Services specializing in dispatch and control systems. The discussion was moderated by Anton Bashkiryov, Deputy CEO of ICL Services, who is actively involved in the company's medical and healthcare projects.
Discussing how the service has changed with the shift to digitalization, speakers covered its history, the challenges of digital transformation, and solutions that are already saving critical minutes today. Key topics of the podcast included real operational bottlenecks, the adoption of tablets and integration buses, and doctors' and dispatchers' psychological perception of new technologies.
The discussion also focused on the application of AI technologies in modern medicine. The experts examined where AI is delivering the greatest value today, from ECG processing to predictive analytics, and addressed a key ethical question: where the line of responsibility lies between an algorithm and a human doctor. It was agreed that AI should continue to serve as an assistant that handles routine tasks, without becoming the key actor in the process.
"Behind the simple act of calling an ambulance lies a vast system of people, processes, and technologies. And technology is not merely a convenience here, but a real tool that helps save lives," concluded Anton Bashkiryov.
