Today the Russian market is «flooded» with a large number of companies that provide variety of services. In general, they can be classified into two types:

  • Specializing in major customers,
  • Specialized in serving various kinds of customers and providing solutions for the most basic and necessary tasks. Segment of provider services for different scaled organizations (comprising staff from 50 to 100 employees) has virtually no development in the country.

Due to the specifics of the Russian business which does not tend to transparency of business processes, customers distrust IT outsourcing. There is an opinion that confidential information may leak out of the company together with outsource services. Ruslan Vagizov, Executive Director of «JDC Services» (ICL Group) offers customers and performers to appeal to the international experience. The company estimated in 2013 that about 59% of the companies surveyed in the United States and Europe have at least 7 years of using the outsource services and almost 60% of customers believe that outsourcing model is a key element in the achievement of certain business goals. At the same time about 31% of the companies extended their contracts for outsourcing in the past year and almost 55% have expanded the set of services transmitted to third parties.

Sergey Smolov, Sales Manager in the Department of Sales Management Solutions of Softline services announced the company’s internal statistics. Thus, the bulk of outsourcing projects are in service of geographically distributed enterprises (32%), followed by expert technical support (24%) and the IT outsourcing itself (19%).

Yuriy Gribanov, the owner of «Unit-Orgtehnika» highlighted in his speech the reasons for the relatively small increase in demand for outsourcing print from the Russian customers.

Stanislav Spirko, a leading manager of DEAC, spoke about the areas of the European data center operator.

According to Marina Anshina, chairman of the committee on standards of Union CIO (UCIO) outsourcing restructures the relationship between business and IT. Such changes are not always possible in case of insourcing. However, Marina Anshina is convinced that the right choice of the partner company is the main component of the project.

Pavel Bragin, Deputy General Director of IT Holding «Pronto-Moscow», outlined a number of requirements for outsourcing partners. He believes that the most important of them is proactivity of service providers: they should not wait the incident in order to solve the problem in fixed time according to SLA but rather one should contact with the business and IT departments timely and regularly in order to improve services.

Anton Savin, Head of Operations Support Systems of «VimpelCom» continued the theme of practical outsourcing in his speech.

Alexander Gerasimov, IT and communications market analyst disagreed with the thesis of mandatory saving of business-critical systems in the company. He referred to a fairly successful practice of migration to external services of Automated banking systems of many medium-sized Russian banks.
