The company's leadership was concerned that the Russian branch could be hit by software sanctions, losing access to the global IT infrastructure built on foreign vendors' services.
Consequently, the company needed to replace SAP solutions and implement 1C ERP.
The choice of the Cloud.ru Advanced platform was influenced by two factors: firstly, part of the existing infrastructure was already being hosted on Cloud.ru Advanced at the time and could be partially used for the new deployment; secondly, there were expectations for a significant increase in 1C ERP users and operations in the coming year, and the cloud would thus allow for resource scaling and the required SLA (99.5).Key Challenges

Uninterrupted business and user operations were one of the project's key requirements. Therefore, the migration consisted of two phases: test migration and production migration.
A migration plan was developed for the production phase, including steps to roll back changes to minimize downtime. This detailed plan accounts for all necessary organizational and technical measures before, during, and after migration (including mandatory backup setup, resource and rule monitoring, and alerts).
Furthermore, the plan allows for precisely measuring the time required for the production switchover and ensures that work will be completed within the agreed service window.
During the test migration phase, the necessary infrastructure was deployed in the Cloud.ru Advanced cloud, and 1C data was migrated; afterwards, the main 1C ERP integrations with third-party systems were tested and application response performance was evaluated.
To enhance application access security, 1C SSO was configured through Keycloak, and multi-factor authentication with OTP (One Time Password) was set up.
The production migration phase went smoothly, taking less than two months.
