The project's client is a
Russian IT company and a technology partner for government agencies and
Russian business leaders in the field of integrated automation of information systems
and software suites.
The client’s infrastructure was a heterogeneous environment, including various types of workstations and mobile devices—all-in-one computers, computers, and laptops—running various operating systems, including Windows and Linux. The growing equipment fleet and its geographical distribution complicated centralized management, maintenance, and monitoring of the devices' status. The lack of a unified tool increased the IT department's labor costs and reduced the transparency of operational processes.
Under these circumstances, the need arose to implement a universal workstation management system capable of operating in a heterogeneous environment. The Colibri-UEM system, which provides centralized management of devices running various operating systems, was chosen as the solution.
Key Challenges
- Develop a design project and accompanying documentation for the implementation and operation of the new system.
- Automate progress tracking and manage the IT infrastructure in a heterogeneous environment by implementing the Colibri-UEM workstation and server management system.
Implemented our solution
- ICL Services team worked with the client on several projects simultaneously, but a separate team of specialists was assigned to the implementation of Colibri-UEM. The teams collaborated extensively to ensure a comprehensive approach to solving problems requiring configuration changes in adjacent systems.
Pilot
The project began with a pilot implementation of Colibri-UEM on the client's test environment. Deployment and initial configuration of the solution were performed by the client, which allowed the team to deeply immerse themselves in the product architecture and evaluate its applicability in a real-world infrastructure.
During the pilot phase, Colibri-UEM specialists provided expert support: consulting on installation, configuration, and operation of the system, holding regular online meetings, and providing operational support. This approach accelerated implementation and minimized potential technical difficulties.
Support
As the project progressed, this collaboration transitioned to extended support. Experts were involved in resolving emerging issues at all stages of system scaling, both in person and online, ensuring stable operation and proper integration into the existing IT environment.
At the same time, joint work is underway on the functional development of the product, discussing additional use cases, including the specifics of centralized server infrastructure management.
Training
Special attention is paid to developing the client's team's competencies. Authorized training was conducted at Innopolis University, followed by specialist certification.
