ICL Services Unveils Drone-Sharing Service And Smart School Cafeteria System At Tatarstan Ministry Of Digital Development's Final Meeting

ICL Services, a product and service company, took part in the Republic of Tatarstan Ministry of Digital Development's final meeting. At the event, the company unveiled several cutting-edge developments aimed at digitalizing school meal services and drone-based logistics.

Among the main innovations was the integrated system for self-service areas in school cafeterias, known as the Smart Cafeteria. ICL Services' video analytics technologies are currently applied in industrial settings, and the new version, created together with the educational platform Obr.Karta, is tailored to the requirements of schools in Tatarstan. The solution features a self-service kiosk with dedicated hardware and software for students to pay for their meals, along with the AiSee system that recognizes dishes and oversees the service process.

"At the demo area, we demonstrated a user scenario for the system – a student places a tray with meals on the kiosk, the video analytics system automatically recognizes the items, and a list of dishes appears on the screen. The student then simply holds their card to deduct the balance. This service takes between 5 to 15 seconds per student," commented Galina Musina, Head of Solutions and Services for Retail at ICL Services. "This model is already successfully implemented in schools in China and other Asian countries, where it has increased meal service speed, addressed queues of senior students during breaks, and reduced the workload of cafeteria staff."

Also at the meeting, the DroneXpress drone-sharing project was presented – ICL Services' solution for creating infrastructure for area monitoring and parcel delivery using unmanned aerial systems. The project enables the shared use of drones, drone ports, and operator communication systems to quickly carry out tasks for government agencies and commercial companies across the republic. According to company representatives, the first pilot is scheduled for 2026. The project is carried out in collaboration with RusDronePort, Innopolis University, and NPO 202.

"Our participation in the Tatarstan Ministry of Digital Development's final meeting gives us a chance to show that Russian IT solutions are ready to tackle practical tasks in education and public administration. Tatarstan has long been a frontrunner in digital transformation, and at ICL Services we focus on creating and deploying cutting-edge digital solutions that can be expanded to other regions of Russia," commented Azat Fakhrutdinov, Business Development Manager at ICL Services.
