ICL Services projects enter Global CIO’s “Project of the year” contest
ICL Services is participating in the 14th Annual Project of the Year Contest with four large-scale digitalization and import substitution case studies, submitting them for evaluation to the Global CIO professional community. Voting for the country’s best projects has already begun.
Among the projects presented by ICL Services, is a turnkey automated workstation management project, implemented for Avtozavod, a major car manufacturing facility in St. Petersburg. It is running in the Infrastructure Creation and Upgrade nomination.
The project's key objective was to seamlessly transition from the foreign Microsoft SCCM solution to the Russian Colibri-UEM system without interrupting business processes. Having been successfully implemented within a tight schedule, the project not only ensured technological independence from the foreign solution but also enabled software migration across 1500 user workstations without any noticeable disruptions—which is crucial for maintaining production cycle continuity.
Another significant project by ICL Services has been submitted for the Government Administration/Federal Services/NGOs nomination. It was aimed at ensuring the technological independence of Leningrad Region executive authorities.
The challenge involved integrating the IT infrastructure of 46 government agencies into a single management chain—from surveying and collecting device configuration data to implementation and support. The case study features domestic software, including the RED OS operating system and Kolibri-ARM management system. The software's deployment assured technological independence and security for more than 2,300 civil servant workstations.
ICL Services is also represented in the Education/Science category with its workplace infrastructure streamlining and upgrade project at Don State Technical University. The university needed to optimize its highly fragmented IT infrastructure. The solution involved delivering ready-made Russian hardware and software complexes, which were turned into a cohesive and easily manageable digital ecosystem for 665 workstations, serving thousands of students and employees.
The final project, the PhosAgro Centralized Workstation and Server Management System, submitted to the Northwestern Federal District nomination, deserves special mention. This is the most extensive of all ICL Services submissions, encompassing 7,000 automated workstations. The goal was to create a reliable and functional workstation and server management system based on domestic software. The successful implementation resulted in a new system, fully adapted to the industrial giant’s business processes.
Voting for the projects is open until January 11, 2026. The results will not only identify industry leaders, but also clearly demonstrate their contribution to developing domestic IT infrastructure.
Top IT managers (CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, or other similar positions) registered on the Global CIO portal (with accounts verified through a valid corporate email address) are kindly invited to vote for ICL Services projects and leave comments.
