Digital Development: Rostelecom And ICL Services Connect DSTU Divisions Using Russian Software
Rostelecom, in collaboration with the product and service company ICL Services, has unified divisions at the Don State Technical University through the implementation of the domestic workstation and server management system, Colibri-UEM. This project has successfully established a cohesive IT infrastructure at the university.
Ilnur Ibragimov, Technical Director of the Colibri-UEM product, stated, "We are thrilled to contribute to the digitalization of modern education. Our solution can connect hundreds of user workstations and facilitate their management, which is essential when the IT infrastructure is geographically dispersed and challenging to operate."
At the request of the university, Rostelecom's project office developed and integrated a comprehensive hardware and software complex into the educational institution's IT infrastructure. This system includes a domestic alternative to the Microsoft SCCM/MECM from ICL Services. To consolidate all devices into a unified digital environment, specialists from the national provider established a technical infrastructure that connects the IT department with all university campuses through a single network.
Alexander Tokar, Director of the Industry Solutions Project Office at Rostelecom's South Regional Directorate, remarked, "The establishment of a digital space based on the 'single window' principle for such a large Don university has become a necessity in response to modern challenges. This system simplifies interactions among a substantial workforce and enhances overall efficiency."
The solution enables the DSTU IT department to manage internal applications, monitor configurations and inventory, and provide remote technical support to users.
Andrey Mozgovoy, Vice-Rector for Strategic and Digital Development of DSTU, stated, "The unified digital space we have developed addresses critical tasks, particularly concerning cybersecurity, as well as the automation and optimization of university operations. This is not our first collaborative project with Rostelecom; for over a year, our university has been operating a cyber polygon where real cyber threats are simulated. I am confident that our continued partnership will yield even more positive outcomes."
