The project was commissioned by a branch of a private coding and digital engineering school.
The client, who repurposed the building for a new school branch, required a comprehensive range of engineering communication works, from design and documentation to complex equipment setup and socket installation. The primary challenge of the project was the tight deadline: the team had to deliver while operating 24/7, aiming for completion in early February. The task was to equip over 300 workplaces across several floors with electricity, Internet, cable networks, video surveillance, alarm systems, and other systems. While other contractors were working on-site alongside us, project timelines and details frequently changed, requiring swift coordination with the client for documentation changes. The project's success was due to the efficient and coordinated efforts of the ICL Services team. |
Key Challenges
- Design the engineering communications for all floors of the facility
- Execute procurement and acceptance within a tight timeframe
- Install cable networks
- Set up electrical equipment, CCTV, fire alarm, public address system, and gas fire extinguishing system on site
- Conduct commissioning works
- Configure an access control system (ACS) and integrate it with the customer's system, including biometric control
Solution
Implemented our solution
- The project was completed in record time: from mid-December 2023 to early February 2024.
Due to this, work on different task tracks was performed simultaneously: right after the design documentation for a specific type of communication was developed and approved, procurement, acceptance, delivery, and installation work commenced.
The ICL Services team successfully tackled all challenges that arose during the project: some tasks had to be coordinated with other contractors on-site, compensation solutions were developed, and alternative routes for laying communications were established. Work also had to be carried out during holidays, requiring logistics adaptation and intensive negotiations with suppliers.
For the project, over 30 km of cable for low-current systems were installed, more than 150 CCTV cameras were set up, and over 300 workplaces were equipped with Internet, electricity, and other communications.
Additionally, we synchronized the Parsec Access Control System (ACS) with the client's biometric identification system to ensure seamless student access to the school.
