ICL Services

Bank of Kazan: migration of robots

The project was commissioned by one of Tatarstan's oldest banks, which has been offering financial and credit services to its customers for over 30 years. The bank has branches in six cities across Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kazan.

The client's branch that worked with legal entities used automation based on the UIPath RPA platform for data verification.

Information about legal entities in electronic document management system databases is constantly updated, necessitating their ongoing relevance in the client's automated banking system.

The robot was responsible for matching data about legal entities with data in the Bank's ABS, updating the latter and reporting to banking service staff. Each month, hundreds of forms were processed automatically this way.

The previous robot operated on the UIPath platform, but its license could not be renewed due to the vendor's exit from the Russian Federation. Therefore, ICL Services specialists were tasked with selecting a Russian equivalent, diagnosing the compatibility of the new solution with the automated processes, and ensuring a seamless migration without any downtime or disruptions to banking services.

Key Challenges

  • Evaluate solutions in the Russian market that are suitable for automation tasks
  • Choose a domestic solution for migration
  • Coordinate the work schedule and concept with the client
  • Guarantee a smooth migration of automations
Solution

Implemented our solution

  1. The project was carried out over a six-month period, from January to May 2023.

After examining the client's infrastructure, ICL Services began analyzing RPA solutions in the Russian market, and upon agreement on the chosen solution, started executing the migration plan. A session was also conducted to evaluate potential risks that could be encountered during the migration process. The specialists chose the Russian Primo RPA solution due to its cost-effectiveness and functionality.

The compatibility of environments and potential volume of transferable data were analyzed, test environment upgrade and load tests were carried out.

Once the main migration tasks were completed, ICL Services specialists conducted acceptance tests on the robot to simulate its operation under real workload conditions.

Standard RPA modules were migrated automatically, while special ones were migrated manually. At the same time, potential areas for development were identified, and the performance of the RPA platform was monitored.

Throughout the migration process, close communication was maintained with the software vendor, resulting in enhancements to the Primo RPA solution concerning the orchestrator (centralized robot control console). Following the completion of the migration, ICL Services continues to provide technical support for RPA automations to the client.
